What Would You Do?

Who has the best interest of a child at heart, the parents who know, love and care for their kids everyday or a doctor who doesn’t know your child or see them as a person, just a number? Since when did doctors get the right to over-ride a PARENT’S decision concerning their child? It’s happening NOW.

Doctors used to suggest children born with Down’s Syndrome be put into institutions. I know this for a fact, it happened to my husband’s grandma, Ruth and his uncle, David. David was born with Down’s Syndrome and the doctors put a lot of pressure on Ruth to give him over to them so he could be “properly taken care” of in an institution.

Do some research on what the facilities were like, you’ll be shocked. She refused and took her son home. Uncle David lived a good and happy life. He was such a good person and touched everyone he met. Imagine if the doctors could have done then what they can now, take him by force with the help of the courts. We may not have had a chance to know him.

Have you heard about doctors “firing” parents for not following their guidelines? Did you know doctors can actually go one step further and remove your children from your care and place them in foster care for not allowing the doctors to “treat” your children the way they see fit? This is so wrong on so many levels. This almost happened to the family in the 15 minute video below.

This is Dustin Kunnari’s story. He was only 3 years old when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. The doctors did surgery and were able to remove most, but not all of the tumor. Dustin would have to go through major toxic treatments that would have more than likely killed him but certainly would have left him a vegetative state for the rest of his short life.

His parents said no, there had to be a better way. They found Dr. Burzynski. Dustin’s doctors threatened to take Dustin away from his parents and have him get treated the old fashioned way, with poison and irreparable damage. Thankfully, Dr. Burzynski was able to treat Dustin, but the FDA put up a fight.
